Massage

Massage is widely used not only to treat injuries and diseases, but also as a prophylactic measure. Massage - a combination of mechanical devices by which the therapist has an impact on surface tissue, and reflex way - on functional systems and organs (Fig. 3). Unlike exercise, where the main thing - training, massage is not able to raise the functional adaptation of the organism, its fitness. But at the same time, massage a noticeable impact on the blood and lymph circulation, tissue metabolism, endocrine function, metabolic processes.

Under the influence of massage there dermahemia, ie an increase in temperature of skin and muscles, and the patient feels the heat in the massaged area, which lowers blood pressure, muscle tone (if elevated), normal breathing.

Massage has a reflex effect on the function of internal organs, resulting in liquidated congestion by speeding up the blood and lymph circulation (microcirculation), normalizes metabolism, accelerates regeneration (healing) tissue (trauma and postoperative surgical patients), decreases ( disappears) pain. Massage in combination with physiotherapy increased mobility in the joint (joints), eliminates the effusion in the joint.

Physiological effect of massage is primarily associated with the acceleration of the blood and lymph flow (Fig. 4) and metabolic processes.
